Surprise arrival

I've been stalking my Soom Clozel's EMS tracking number for a few days now and when the mailman called me today I got all excited to receive her~

I was very surprised when I opened the body pillow and found a weewee there and found my Soom Amber boy there instead! I didn't even get a tracking notification and I'd been stalking Soom's website for my order update as well!

I'm not sure how I feel about him/her yet, as he's quite haughty/beautiful. Almost too pretty to be a boy after all.. Girl turned boy turned girl again? Meh, we shall see. His face-up is gorgeous though.

He can only bend his right arm but doesn't seem to care either way.
But oh boy, Soom. The trouble I'd been hearing about is true indeed. He came with the S-hook completely stuck in his neck. It had dug into the resin both on the inside and outside of the neck, leaving nasty marks. It was really hard to remove too..

Evil S-hook digging D:
Secondly, when trying to bend his arm I found his left arm was a bit weird... upon closer inspection I found Soom had sent him strung with TWO right upper arms... = =;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; That seems rather easy to notice, doesn't it?

This is possibly the worst state I've ever received a doll in from Soom. Honestly. I've written to their Q&A hoping to at least receive that LEFT upper arm... ToT

All in all I have some time to fix him first before I decide what to do with him~

Thanks for checking x3
PS: You may have noticed I've put up a tentative BJD profiles page under the links section on the left!

  1. Oh dear, what a bad luck D:. Hopefully Soom will fix their mistake. That s-hook in his neck don't look nice at all. It's so funny how so many people have problems with Soom , but all my Soomies had been just fine (and I have 7 of their dolls. I guess I'm just lucky).

    1. I have a LOT of Soom dolls that arrived in great condition - it seems only recently with their staff change that they've been having trouble =( I didn't order from them in a while but now seems to be a poor time to be making any orders...

  2. Argh, so sorry to hear about all those trouble :( Hope Soom will fix everything. I have no idea why some people receive such bad quality dolls from them, while some are in excellent shape??! Just last week I received a Teenie Gem from them (going to a friend) and there was nothing wrong with it, another friend received the same doll as well and it was in excellent shape too...

Still, congrats on his arrival! ♥ Hope you'll figure out what to do with him~ I think the romantic head looks gorgeous, it could work for both genders!

    1. Thanks! I've no idea for now ^^;;; so I will put him up for feelers.
My guess is they've got different people working different doll lines? Hence why the smaller dolls seem to be alright, but perhaps they got some new/inexperienced people working the SD-size dollies? ToT I just pray they will answer my message and send me a left upper arm..

  3. SOOM needs to get their *** together pronto! I love SOOM but I've heard so many people with missing or wrong parts is not cool.
He is gorgeous though and I hope SOOM gives you a new arm and a new torso because that neck isn't acceptable imo.

Congrats for his arrival though!! He's too pretty I agree but I totally don't mind :D
Don't you dare to sell him ever because I'm broke and I'll cry XD

    1. I agree 100% D: I didn't expect such stupid mistakes, to be honest D: The neck is more acceptable because it can't be seen once the head is on, but the arm is really weird because it can't even bend properly, he can only scratch his own armpit now o__o; because it's twisted around in the wrong way xDDD;

I might actually sell him so I've put him up for feelers ;3 If you're interested I can always take layaway -evilness-

    2. Where's that feeler? Is he white skin? I probably won't be able to buy him but it doesn't hurt to see D:....

  4. Oh my gosh, congrats! Your Amber boy is incredible. I love the photo you took of him and those hands, wow. So nicely sculpted. Shame about the S-hook being sunk deep like that. I hope Soom do send you a replacement arm, the actual correct part but yeah, it seems kind of weird that they didn't pick that up. It'd be pretty obvious. I have been hearing whispers about Soom's problems lately. I hope they do get their act together otherwise they'll end up losing customers.

Love how you have set up your bjd profile page. Love the concept of housing them in the different colours. And I get a sense you're a bit of a fan of Soom and Peak's Woods dolls judging by their dominance in your collection! I also didn't know you had that many bjds. They're all really lovely and would love to see more about their characters if you decide to post more.

    1. Thank you~ I adore the special hand sculpt as well~ I hope they do without issues, it seems like a rather easy thing to fix. They're already losing customers as we speak I do believe. I for one will be wary to order from them again after this.

Thank you~ It took me a while to think of groupings, because there were just too many and I didn't want to make just one long page, it needed a division of sorts xD; so I decided to use aspects of a personality they represent. You're right, I've been a loyal Soom customer since they released Onyx! I also adore PW and their amazing service! Haha, sometimes I forget I have that many since most of them are back at home while I'm living in China.
Once I get all my dolls back together I hope I can do some short photo stories :O

  5. I'm sorry to hear about this. :(
Sucks that there's been such a HUGE mess-up at the Soom factory. That is really bad work >_<"
I hope they get back to you with an honest apology and that they'll fix their mistakes. That hook thing in the neck is super scary. How can they be so careless? ;__;"

    1. I noticed I completely forgot to say how gorgeous your new boy is :D
Despite all of Soom's errors, he looks very good. *___*

    2. Yeahh, it seems their service is getting worse these days. It happened to several big companies~
The one company I'd say still has awesome service is Peak's Woods :) haha, I'd always love to buy from them still!
Thank you :) haha, the arm doesn't affect the rest of him as much, it just makes him slightly disabled. :3
I hope Soom gets back to me soon at least @o@

  6. Oh my goodness! He's (she's?) gorgeous! *3* Oh boy do I regret now that I didn't get a male Amber... Altough I am sad to learn you had so much trouble with him... T__T Up to now I've had no bad experiences with Soom, so I'm a little nervous when they drop the bomb with one of my doll orders. *knocks on wood*:'D

Well, I hope you get things sorted out with this awesome doll I can enjoy a lot of pictures of your Amber in the future. I just love that first picture of him, such a meaningful gaze... <3

    1. Hahaha, thank you! He is quite special in his own way, and so different from the female Ambers around :O I somehow think Amber could be both a boy and a girl easily, I feel the same way about their Heliot sculpt xD;

I hope your orders will be fine! Recently they've been having way too many issues it seems. I'm quite wary about ordering from them again @o@
