Hoarding stuff

Recently I was sorting out my Pullip boxes and found a big bag full of default/stock outfit accessories! ~ I just love Pullip's older designs, they used to pay a lot of attention to details!

Let's see if you can find all the tiny things!
1. Paja's moon pillow 2. Paja's mug & dinosaur book 3. Chicca's bear backpack 4. Arietta's pink bag 5. Chicca's ice cream 6. Noir's bear 7. My Melody's mouse 8. Paja's tiny dinosaur 9. My Melody's bag 10. Paja's fluffy dino slippers~

It's even more fun to play with all these things - I kind of want to decorate a playroom diorama for my dollies! Here's my Chicca, who recently got some additional pink blush, I felt so guilty for not being able to fix her facial yellowing that I decided to refresh her face-up a bit ToT

I love the idea of these tiny details in fullset dolls recently, so I've been working on my own custom full-set Pullips recently ~ but it's a lot of work! Here's a preview of my latest girl!

Thanks for checking~ x3 x3

  2. I have been looking at some of the older Pullip releases and I have to admit, there's a certain charm to the older ones that I find is missing a bit in the newer releases. It seems as though they are concentrating on collaborations a lot lately. It's a shame that there weren't really that many original dolls released from them this year. And the accessories they used to come with, there really isn't any really with the new ones. I don't really have any extra accessories for any of the ones I have.

Both your girls look amazing but that custom girl, wow. She is incredible. Those eyes, that face, that hair - amazing. I can't wait to see what she will look like finished.

I didn't know their faces yellowed? Is it mostly because of the sealers?

    1. I totally agree with you on that ~ not only the amount of detail and originality of the designs & face-ups but also the face sculpt is different! I originally fell in love with Pullip in 2005 so I guess I am one of those old school collectors who prefers to collect old dollies only xD!;

Thank you~ I hope I can finish her and make her look more unique soon! It takes a lot of work~

Some Pullips do yellow, it's mostly older ones and I guess it depends on the circumstances.~ it can be somewhat covered up though ;o;~ but I guess as with all dolls it's better to keep them away from direct light/sunlight!

    2. Oh did they change the face-sculpt on Pullips at some point? I didn't know that! :O How interesting!

I also think there's something special to the old releases of Groove (or Jun planning back then) dolls... The new ones are more made to cater to the wants of the collector audience.

    3. Oh yes they did, they pushed the neck forward more into the chin - that was the biggest change. It happened somewhere around the Evangelion releases I do believe!

I also think the older releases have more personality ToT~ and I miss the old sculpt a lot!

  4. I'm always happy to see Pullips appear in a mostly BJD blog! :)
Yes, those little accessories that come with some Pullips/Groove Inc dolls are really fun! One of the most fun things about dolls are the miniature things made for them. One of the reasons I wanted to start the doll hobby was so that I could collect miniature things for them. :D I always enjoyed miniature accessories for my toys as a kid too.

I'd love to see you make a playroom diorama for your dolls! <3 The second pic is so cute, like the doll is saying "Look at all this stuff! Let's play!"

I agree with you on that one, it gave me an excuse to start my re-ment/miniature collection (which is now massive o___o) ~ they are so well made and very detailed!

Thank you~ :D I hope I can work on that one day soon, but I need to move house first before I can do any of that @_@
