Japanese delights

ありがとう!ひさやさん。
My Japanese friend got me these wonderful apple-related goodies and other delicious sweet snacks~ I love Japanese snacks! But the highlight were the stickers and flag from Shiina Ringo's recently completed tour, which was themed after traditional Japanese horror stories also known as Kaidan.
I've loved this style since reading the Natsume's book of friends manga so it's nice to see miss Ringo do something related to that! One of the stickers you can see in the photo is actually a Kasa-obake.

  1. Oh my Irene, so many yummy goodies. You are very lucky to have a Japanese friend who is so generous. :) But don't eat them all at once, take your time and savour each one.
    Hugs,

  2. Awww man, I am so jealous. I love Japanese snacks. There are a few bits and pieces in our local supermarket but not a lot. I really need to go check out the local Asian supermarket again ...

    And I have heard of Kaidan! Although I can't watch or read much horror as I get easily scared! Remember that movie Sixth Sense? Man, I suffered from fear of ghosts for months afterwards. I'd be seeing ghosts around every corner!!

    1. ~I hope you can find some more! They're great x3 I'd love to try some of those new kit-kat flavors they got too! :O
      Ahaha~ The 6th sense is one of my favorite movies, but it wasn't very scary, only in the beginning~ I love the fact that the ghosts were only trying to communicate ~

  3. Yummy goodies! I never heard about Kaidan, but I'm not that fond of terror stories!

    1. Yay~ I suggest reading or watching Natsume's book of friends instead, it uses the spirits in a story which is more about friendship and (mis)understanding~

  4. Evertyhing looks so delicious!! If you have the time, maybe do a little review post on these goodies? :)
    As a fan of all spooky things and ghost stories, I'm familiar with the Japanese kaidan! Such an awesome theme, I'll have to look into Shiina Ringo's tour to see if there's anything on YouTube, as I'm curious to see how she has featured this theme! Lovely stickers and that Ofuda -style one especially caught my eye! ^^ *a fan of Onmyoji-tales*

    1. ~I hope I can do many reviews of Asian snacks in the future, as for these, I've already finished most of them! XD;;;;;

      There's nothing of the new tour yet, but there might be a DVD sooner or later. I recommend you check her latest MV though, it's really awesomely done in that exact style!
      Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42W8bxW14sU (maybe you need to google another website to check it since it seems to be blocked in a few countries TT;)

      I also love the ofuda tags very much, in fact I caught one at her concert in Taipei as it was short into the air above the audience~! :D :D
