A project a day - Spring festival ver. Day #4

Hey guys~

So far so good with my schedule, so here's the next project: Glass globe/bottle necklaces~

~They're easy to make and the materials are easy to find on taobao!

I found some of these absolutely TINY macarons which can actually fit inside the tiny glass pieces I have~ I got them in silver, gold and bronze, two sizes and with different 'lids'~

I simply fill the glass jars with things then glue the lids on and let them dry. Then I attach them to a necklace and then attach some other decorations to the necklace~

Here's one I made with macarons, a bell and a few pearl beads~

Here's one with a key and crystal beads~ It's actually pretty hard to photograph such tiny things clearly, I'd love to have a proper macro lens XD!

Here are some others I've done with tiny flowers, pebbles and beads~

I tried posing my Pullips on my widest shelf and guess what! They didn't fit... ;;;;
The lighting was a bit off since they were all in different positions xD;~

I will be working more on new things this week!

  1. Very sweet Irene, are they dolly size or human size? Love the one with the macarons. :)

    1. Thank you! They're modeled by my Goldie at the moment, however with a longer chain I'm sure they'd make cute human necklaces! XD;;

  4. Oh what a neat idea. Wish humans had something like that, be good for a snack later! Such tiny Macarons though, I think I'd go cross-eyed trying to work with them! Great work on them!

    You inspire me to try and get crafty again.

    I love the photo of all your Pullips together. I often wish Groove would do more tan Pullips. They seem to be a rarity these days.

    1. Hahaha, these would look cute on people too though :D ~ yes these are absolutely tiny ;_; I really want to buy a new lens for closer shots ^^

      Please do get crafty and share your results! :D :D

      Oh yeah, that's a real shame isn't it? I have plans to do another tan custom girl, as soon as I can find myself a cheap Nahhato Pullip x3

    2. Have you thought about Macro Filters? I have a few of those and that's what I use to my Macro shots. They're readily affordable, more so than Macro Lenses but do the job well enough. I'll get a Macro Lens one day, when I stop spending money on figures and dolls!

  6. So cute!!! and very colorful too~

    Love your pullips but yeah they look a bit uncomfortable trying to fit XD

    Maybe instead of a macro lens you could try an extension tube? I think that's what they are called. I have one but it turned out that unless you are REALLY close to the subjetc you can't focus so it's not useful for dolls XD but I think you could find cheap ones for tiny props

    I used my extension tube with a kit lens from an analog camera attached to my digital canon to take this: http://fantasywoods.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/closeup.jpg thats the furthest I could focus XD

      Hahha yeah, they're always squashed together ;;;;;

      Oh thanks for your suggestion :O that might be worth a go if I can find one of those around here! My problem is usually that I can't get too close to objects with my 50mm lens ;_; ~
